Oktoberfest at Matso's Broome Brewery!

Oktoberfest is an annual event that takes place in Munich, Germany. It is a celebration of the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. The festival lasts for two weeks and begins on the third Saturday in September. Like any other year, we're taking this tradition to our brewery in Northwest Australia!

This family-owned gem in the delightful township of Broome has been pleasing locals and visitors alike since 1997! The folks at Broome Brewery have created an Oktoberfest experience that is sure to please. Your favorite Matso's will be rocking out to German jams, zesty tunes and of course all your Matso's favourites brews.

With over 10 different types of craft beer on tap—including some brews that are only available during Oktoberfest, guests are encouraged to try all of the beers on tap!

We are excited to be working with some amazing artists this year, including indie folk musician George Dacheff and Australia's South West power duo 'Spiff and Fifi.' We can't wait to see what they have in store for us—they're going to blow everyone away.

In addition to our traveling artists, we also have some amazing local talent on board: The specs, a newly formed band that is in their peak in Broome's music scene; and THE MEXICANS, who will be joining us for the first time this year. Here are the guide to experience the ultimate Oktoberfest at Matso's Broome Brewery!

• We know you’re going to have a great time, so we recommend starting your day early and relaxing later. Here are some of our favourite things to do on the day: Go for a walk along Cable Beach/Town Beach and come down to have lunch with us- it's free entry before 3pm! Visit the Broome Visitor Centre for information about all of Broome's attractions.

• Pack up a good vibes and Be kid again! This is the time to forget all your worries, leave the stress behind and join us for a day full of fun.

• We encourage all attendees to dress up in their finest Oktoberfest attire. You can get inspiration from our Facebook page and Instagram, or if you need some last minute ideas, check out the photos galeries. If you want to take your outfit one step further, why not decorate a beer stein with tissue paper flowers? We are giving away a Matso's gift card for the best dressed, most creative and funniest costume.

• The best part of Oktoberfest is the food and beer, so we’re giving away some prizes to celebrate that. Enter our sausage eating competition, where you can win a cash prize!
